Privacy policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026
This policy explains how Vennco (trading as Vennco) ("Vennco", "we") collects, uses and protects personal data when you use vennco.in, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000. Vennco is the "data fiduciary" for the data described here. By creating an account, you consent to the processing described below.
1. What we collect
- Account details: name, email, phone number, your role (Founder or Manufacturer) and your WhatsApp updates choice. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
- Business details: brand or company name, GSTIN, PAN, address, state and year founded.
- Founder briefs: product requirements, quantities, target prices, answers, attachments, and notes from the qualification call.
- Manufacturer verification: licences, GST and company documents, facility photos and videos, video-call details, references and capabilities.
- Messages: what you write and the files you send in Vennco conversations. Phone numbers, emails and links are hidden from the other side; we keep the original to prevent misuse.
- Sample delivery details: the name, phone number and address a Founder gives for a product sample. Used only to book the courier, and never shown to the Manufacturer on the platform.
- Technical data: basic logs, and cookies needed to keep you logged in and the site secure. We don't use advertising cookies.
2. Why we use it
- To create and run your account, and to let you sign in.
- To verify manufacturers and match them with founders' briefs.
- To run anonymous messaging and arrange and track product samples.
- To send service emails (and WhatsApp messages if you opt in).
- To keep the platform safe, prevent fraud and enforce our terms.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.
3. Who sees it
- Other users: Founders and Manufacturers see each other anonymously while matching and sampling (for example "Manufacturer A", a score and a state). Names, phone numbers, emails and addresses are not shared by the platform.
- Vennco staff: only to run the service, verify manufacturers, help with problems and keep the platform safe.
- Service providers who process data for us under contract: hosting and database (Vercel, Supabase), email delivery (Resend), error tracking, sign-in (Google, if you use it) and courier partners (only what they need to deliver a sample).
- Authorities: when the law requires it.
4. Where it is stored
Our database and files are stored in India (Mumbai region). Some service providers, such as email delivery, may process limited data outside India, with safeguards as required by law.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except records we must keep by law, or that are needed to resolve a dispute or prevent fraud.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct, complete or update it;
- erase it, where we are not required to keep it by law;
- withdraw your consent (this may mean we can no longer provide the service);
- nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you are unable to.
Email our grievance officer at hello@vennco.in. We reply within 7 days and act on requests within 30 days.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Documents, media, attachments and labels are stored privately and opened only through short-lived secure links. Database rules make sure each user can read only their own data, and staff access is limited. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we'll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
8. Children
Vennco is for businesses and is not meant for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect children's data.
